Graham Linehan (writer of Father Ted, Black Books and The IT Crowd) thinks that restrictions can be good for creativity. Well, we’ll have to at least concede that they can be part and parcel of some briefs and it’s better to be positive about them than negative. Take this selection of work we created for Coors Brewers. They needed some advertising templates – with copy part-completed (as above) so they could be tailored each time. But they needed us to use ‘hero’ words in the headlines. They wanted to see what could be done with an illustration style. And they wanted to move their tone of voice away from corporate-speak. Here’s some of what we came up with to meet their brief.
